Pizza Production Equipment: Interleaving & Stacking

Flatbread & Pizza Base Interleaving

The Pacproinc® PPI-200 Counter/Stacker is pizza production equipment that automatically counts and stacks flat breads and bakery thins in single- or multi-lane operations. This pizza production equipment also auto loads trays or horizontal flow wrap machines, and the modular design can be easily customized to fit your processes and products. Our PLC design allows for easy production setup, changes, and networking with other equipment. The PPI-200 Counter/Stacker easily integrates with any Pacproinc® Interleaver for modular automation of the flat bread and pizza base interleaving and packing process.

The PPI-200 product line features rugged, stainless steel construction and climate-controlled (dehumidified), fully gasketed enclosures. Our PLC-based design enables easy production setup and changes, as well as networking with other equipment in a pizza or flat bread production line.

The paper, film, or foil sheet can be folded or wrapped around flat bread pizza bases for ease of separation, sanitary handling, freeze release, improved shelf life, and portion control.

Interleaved (underleaved) products can be conveyed to one of our modular auto stackers for hands-free counting and auto stacking before introduction to your packaging or wrapping machine. Gain additional line flexibility in your automated pizza production equipment with our bypass option. This option is available to accommodate processing of non-interleaved or non-stacked product. Products can be introduced to the automatic pizza packaging machine without having to take the interleaver or stacker out of the line.

Our pizza production equipment solutions are available as combination interleavers and stackers or as standalone components designed to fit your application. The PPI-200 product line is a sanitary, washdown-duty, stainless steel system. The streamlined design incorporates leading-edge Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and servo motor technology, ensuring low maintenance and a long machine life. With compact designs available, the PPI-200 requires a minimal amount of floor place and is engineered to exceed the American Meat Industry’s 10 Principles of Sanitary Design.

Pizza Crust and Flat Bread Paper

Interleave Count and Stack Pizza Crusts

Our pizza production equipment designs and superior construction go beyond simply addressing the need for efficient operation—ease of sanitary maintenance is central to our solutions:

  • Stand-off mounted components prevent the trapping of any product scrap improving sanitation
  • Ground and polished welds further eliminate bacteria harborage points, making cleaning to a microbiological level possible
  • All control cabinets and enclosures have sheet metal breaks eliminating the possibility of standing water on flat surfaces
  • We use sealed stainless steel bearings in all food-contact areas to prevent product contamination and offer optional, antibacterial belting
  • All machines are available with casters or leveling pads to meet your plant’s unique requirements
  • Trays keep product scraps out of the paper path and paper tails off the floor to prevent material contamination
  • Welded construction eliminates recessed bolt heads and other areas that could collect product cast-offs and harbor bacteria growth

Pacproinc® automatic pizza production equipment is built to accommodate your application, with standard operating widths ranging from 3-40”. These automatic pizza machine solutions can be configured for single lane, multiple lanes, or unique groupings.

Our patented jam detectors significantly reduce costly downtime, and the PPI-200 includes Allen Bradley controls and touch screens as standard equipment. All programming is done by our in-house automation engineers, and all Pacproinc® systems are supported by our 24/7 service team.

Stand-Alone Counter/Stackers

Don’t need flat bread or pizza base interleaving with your pizza production equipment? No problem. Pacproinc® offers a variety of modular counter/stackers to fit any application, including specialized flat bread production lines. Our custom designs easily interface with upstream production equipment and end-of-line packaging machinery.

High-speed, sanitary, hands-free counting/auto stacking guarantees better, more accurate stacks for easier packaging and improved product presentation.

Counting and auto stacking reduces labor and training expenses, as well as the incidence of repetitive motion injuries. The PPI-200 increases line throughput while cutting operating costs and improving your product presentation and packaging.

Like all of our designs, our stand-alone counters/stackers feature rugged, stainless steel construction and climate-controlled, fully gasketed enclosures. Our PLC design enables easy production setup and changes to parameters like stack count, delay, speed, and portion thickness. Our solutions are easily networked with other pizza production equipment on your line to seamlessly interface with requirements like product changeover or stoppages.

Pacproinc® can configure your PPI-200 to accept product in single or multiple lanes. We can also singulate (combine multiple lanes into a single lane) finished stacks for delivery to the packaging machine, and all stackers can be fitted with our Remote Monitoring and Diagnostic System (RMDS).

Pizza Crust Counter Stacker

Designed by Pacproinc® to automate the counting and stacking of pizza crusts and flat bred, this pizza production equipment is capable of independent lane operation at speeds up to 100 pieces per minute per lane. As with all Pacproinc® solutions this system is available with custom in-feeds and exit conveyors. Regardless of your packaging requirements or upstream processing equipment Pacproinc® can offer a fully integrated solution.

Auto-Loading

Whether you are interleaving and stacking or just stacking, many of Pacproinc®’s auto stacking modules have the ability to load your counted and stacked product directly into the package. We have extensive and unique experience handling stacked food products, which allows us to introduce finished stacks directly into trays, cartons, or pockets.
