ENGINEERING and CONSULTING
Our experienced Engineering Dept. is ready to work with you to achieve your process objective. We will assist you with your production line layout and will customize any of our equipment in order to provide you with a turnkey system, ensuring a smooth and efficient product flow. (Packaging Progressions also offers a full line of conveying systems to assist in moving your product to and from our equipment).
PPI works closely with allied equipment manufacturers (i.e. slicing, forming, and packaging companies) to create line layouts and plant layouts to meet your unique needs.
TYPICAL ENGINEERING PROJECT:
- After making contact with the prospective customer, our sales representative will submit a Request for Quote form (RFQ). The RFQ contains all pertinent information required to review the application's feasibility.
- Once a project is accepted by our applications engineer, we may set up a model in the shop for testing. The test may be video taped and sent to the customer for review. In addition, we may include line layouts or other sales drawings to reinforce the customer's understanding of what we are proposing. Once the design and operational parameters are accepted by the customer, it is brought to the quoting stage.
- Working with layout drawings, interfacing with the customer and any allied equipment manufacturer, our staff begins the process of estimating engineering and manufacturing costs. The result is a quotation which is always sent with a sales drawing of the proposed machine or line layout.
- After the customer's acceptance of the quotation and their subsequent order, our engineering staff creates the drawing package required to build the system. Once the package is completed and released to manufacturing, the engineering staff works closely with all manufacturing and purchasing personnel to ensure a smooth project.
With the impending arrival of their new system, the customer is invited to our plant for a demonstration with their product, their personnel are trained, the customer accepts and signs-off on the equipment, and shipment is then arranged. |
